You know it’s officially “watermelon season” when restaurants start rolling out watermelon-themed food and drink specials. You can find watermelon on many menus (some all year long, if you’re lucky), but Chili’s is taking the season to new, tastier level with its line of watermelon-themed drinks.
Throughout the spring and into the summer, the restaurant is offering not one, not two, but three beverages featuring the season’s greatest fruit. The drinks include the following:
Watermelon Margarita – Tequila, fresh watermelon puree and house-made sour.
Watermelon Cooler – Vodka, lemonade and fresh watermelon puree.
Watermelon Lemonade – A refreshing combination of two great flavors (non-alcoholic)
I’ll pay a visit to my local Chili’s next week to sample all three specials (all in the name of research, of course), and I’ll provide a review and photos in a blog entry later this month. In the meantime, I’m happy to announce that you, too, can try the drinks thanks to this month’s What About Watermelon prize – a $50 Chili’s gift card.
The gift card is more than enough to cover all three drinks, so feel free to also grab some dinner while you’re there. What you choose to pair with your Watermelon Margarita or Watermelon Cooler is up to you. Personally, I’ll probably opt for the Mushroom Swiss Burger or the Santa Fe Chicken Quesadillas.

I think all 3 sound delicious but I would like to try the cooler first!
I keep hearing how great the “Watermelon Lemonade”, and the “Watermelon Margarita” is,….but I really want to see.if the “Watermelon Cooler” beats them!! ?
I can’t wait to try the Watermelon Cooler with friends – sounds delicious! Chili’s does know how to make a margarita which is why I’m sure I will eventually try the Watermelon Margarita.
Watermelon is one of my favorite drink flavors! If I had to choose I would start with a Watermelon Cooler, move on to the Watermelon Marg and finish up with a refreshing Watermelon Lemonade! ?

Wow! Glad to see Chili’s joined the watermelon bandwagon! They have great food and I look forward to trying these drinks!
I’ll have to travel a little distant, about 1.5 hours to get to my neighborhood Chili’s, but I would like to try the #3 Watermelon, lemonade. I’m also looking forward to again tasting the watermelon shakes at the Cookout Restaurants. They only have those available during June & July of every year. Luckily I only have to drive about 30 minutes for that treat, but I’ve got to wait a few more weeks! It is an awesome shake with bits of watermelon in it…works better to eat it with a spoon, rather than a straw!

The watermelon cooler is awesome! I loved it and I don’t drink hardly at all! Very smooth!
