Donuts are pretty good and watermelon donuts are even better, which is what makes this recipe so awesome. These aren’t donuts in the traditional sense, so don’t try dunking them in your coffee. They only look like donuts, which is part of what makes them so cool. For extra donutlike appeal, feel free to swap out the almond slivers for sprinkles.
By the way, is it spelled “donut” or “doughnut”? I tend to favor the shorter version, but I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because I’m really busy and I don’t have time to type that extra “ugh”.

Watermelon
Sour cream
Sugar to taste
Vanilla to taste
Slivered almonds
DIRECTIONS
Cut out circular donut shapes from 1 1/2-inch thick slices of seedless watermelon. Eat leftover scraps of watermelon quickly, before anyone else does. Sweeten sour cream with sugar and a touch of vanilla to taste. Frost half of the watermelon donut slices and sprinkle with almonds. Add another layer of watermelon slices and top with sweetened sour cream. Sprinkle toasted slivered almonds on top and serve.
