THE WATERMELON GUY ASKS: On behalf of little girls everywhere, what advice do you have for girls who might one day want to become the National Watermelon Queen?
First, always be yourself. In today’s society, many young girls feel pressure to conform to the newest trends or standards of beauty. Being the National Watermelon Queen requires poise, confidence and elegance. I advise young girls to remember that true beauty is inward. I encourage them to establish their morals and beliefs, then stand firm in them. Secondly, follow your dreams and never give up, because hard work and dedication do pay off. Lastly, get an education. Learning is a vital aspect of life, and the knowledge you will gain from school will follow you through every future endeavor.
