Spring is in the air. Is that the right phrase? I know love can be “in the air,” but can spring be in the air? I can smell spring on certain days (it smells like grass, grilled meat, and a hint of manure spread on nearby cornfields), so I guess spring can be in the air.
Either way, I was thinking of spring (and summer) when I chose this month’s prize: the watermelon platter dishes pictured on the right. Placed together, the nesting dishes look like a cross section of watermelon. Individually, they each look like your own personal wedge. You can serve whatever you’d like on them, of course, including watermelon. I’m not sure if watermelon served on watermelon plates would be too much watermelon, but as we all know, there’s no such thing as too much watermelon.
I’ll choose one comment from all the comments posted to the blog this month to receive this prize. Good luck!

REMINDER: The What About Watermelon Recipe Contest is still accepting entries. We haven’t received a whole lot of entries, so there’s a good chance if you submit something it’ll be one of our finalists. Check out the announcement blog entry for more details.
