I loved Legos when I was a kid. I could build anything with those little interlocking blocks – houses, cars, airplanes, people – but it never occurred to me to build a watermelon. I like to think it was because I didn’t have enough red and green Lego pieces, but it was probably because the inspiration just never struck me to use my favorite toy to build fruit. It’s probably a good thing, though. If I had built a watermelon like the one above, I could never have brought myself to disassemble it, and I would have had a serious Lego shortage from that point forward!
