There aren’t many foods or drinks that I don’t enjoy all year round, but I’m sure you know what I mean when I say that there are some foods meant for certain times of year. Eggnog and fruit cake have a special place at the table around Christmas time. Burgers and hot dogs on the grill is your cue that summer has arrived.
Speaking of warmer months, tomorrow is National Iced Tea Day. There’s just something about iced tea that makes me want to put my flip-flopped feet up and soak up the sun. Every summer, my wife makes big batches of sun-brewed tea on the window sill while I wait anxiously to pour myself a tall glass.
I’ll be celebrating National Iced Tea Day with a variety of iced teas, but you can celebrate with a glass of this Watermelon Sweet Iced Tea courtesy of DeepSouthDish.com. Of all the watermelon tea recipes that I’ve come across, this one is by far the best. Try it out for yourself, and be sure to let me know how your batch turned out.
And if you’re still thirsty after trying that sweet tea, don’t forget that there are plenty of watermelon drink recipes on the National Watermelon Promotion Board website.
